Visa & Work Permits

Support with visas, work permits and residence routes

Every placement from the Philippines requires the right residence and work permit route to be determined. SkillShift assesses which route applies and guides the application, based on the role, the country and the candidate.

Coordination of recruitment, permits and relocation

What this service involves

Depending on the country, role and salary, a candidate qualifies for a different immigration route. In the Netherlands this could be the GVVA route or the Highly Skilled Migrant scheme; in Belgium, the single permit. SkillShift assesses which route applies on a case-by-case basis.

We then guide the preparation and submission of the application, in coordination with the employer and, where relevant, specialised partners.

What SkillShift can provide

  • Assessment of the applicable immigration route
  • Preparation and submission of the permit application, where applicable
  • Coordination with the employer on conditions such as salary and role requirements
  • Support for the candidate throughout the application procedure
  • Coordination with Philippine DMW documentation and pre-departure requirements ahead of departure

When this is relevant

This service is relevant once an employer has identified, or wants to assess, a candidate and needs to know which route allows legal employment in the Netherlands or Belgium.

Important conditions and limitations

SkillShift cannot guarantee approval of a visa or work permit; the final decision rests with the competent authorities. Processing times differ per route and authority and cannot be fixed in advance.

Requirements for the Netherlands and Belgium differ. Not every role or candidate qualifies for every route; this is assessed case by case.

Philippine DMW documentation and pre-departure requirements

How this relates to recruitment and DMW documentation and pre-departure requirements

Obtaining a Dutch or Belgian residence and work permit is not the full process. The candidate must also meet the Philippine DMW documentation and pre-departure requirements before departure is possible. These can include contract review, insurance, medical fitness, orientation and departure clearance. SkillShift aligns both tracks within the same process.

Which service fits your organisation?

SkillShift can support a specific stage or guide the full process. We start by assessing the vacancy, the country and the preferred employment structure.
